GERMANY III
Gallery Nine
I guess you could say it’s an understatement that Germany is
very different from Texas! I was awestruck by the history all around me,
and the mindset this instills into the people that live there. In Texas
you grow up thinking bigger is better; and tear down the old to make room
for the new. In Germany, people think differently. They treasure and
preserve their history; not just a little bit here and there, like we do
the Alamo or some of our other historical sites, but in every thing around
them no matter how large or small. To be there and to slow down from the
rush of life in the States is, for me, to enjoy a certain kind of serenity.
Do not misunderstand me, I will always be a Texan through
and through, but at the same time I’ve developed an enormous appreciation
of Germany and a deep affection toward it and the German people.
