Jürgen and his brother, Uwe, have been avid rock climbers for many
years. As such they’ve been in the Dolomites climbing, hiking, and camping,
many times. This was my first visit to the Dolomites and my first experience
with camping. I found the entire experience exhilerating. It seemed as if
every rock formation we saw brought with it a story of how many times they
had climbed there and all the things they had found while climbing. For me
it transformed the rock formations into something more. I saw the immense
beauty of God’s majestic creations in the unique character of each formation.
As a bonus, we drove to Venice and walked through the alleys and
along the canals. Venice is the only place I’ve ever been that looked, felt,
and sounded exactly as I’d imagined it would.
From there we drove to beautiful Lago di Garda and spent the
night camping under the olive trees with a gorgeous view of the lake. I
can tell you with some authority that the locally made olive oil is the
best I’ve ever eaten.
On the way back to Germany, we stopped in Merano and again at Lake Reschen.

 within the superb alpine landscape of the Dolomites. The lake
and its surrounding area are popular for holidays and is an ideal base for
excursions into the woods and pathways. Not far away you find the world
famous city of Cortina d Ampezzo.</p>'))

. Yes, you see right, they are speaking three official
languages in this south Tyrolean valley. You may see Val Gardena as the
quintessence of the scenic beauty of the Dolomites defined by the mighty
Langkofel (3.181 m) and the monumental Sella mountain range. It is probably
one of the most picturesque valleys I have ever seen and I have to admit that
I have seen a lot of outstanding unique and beautiful valleys all over the world.
Val Gardena surely might conquer them all.</p>'))
