TUSCANY AND BEYOND
Gallery Seventeen
We continued our journey through the Tuscan countryside. It
is truly beautiful and we were fascinated by all the villages that sit atop
hills. We stopped in Lucca one evening for dinner and of course we walked
around taking photographs. In addition to its charm, Lucca is also the
birthplace of Puccini. Eventually we came to the Italian Mediterranean and
drove along the coast to Genoa. Genoa has two distinctions that have affected
my life directly; it is the birthplace of both Christopher Columbus and
Pat DiFonzo who owns the company where I am employed. Beyond that, it is a
vibrant town, alive with history and traditions. From Genoa we continued on
until we reached Milan. We only had a short time to explore Milan but we
tried to make the most of it. We were able to walk around the grand Galleria
but sadly we were too poor to buy anything. We ended our Italian adventure
in Milan. From there we drove back to Germany by way of Switzerland.
