BOSTON
Gallery Fifteen
To me, Boston is one of the most interesting and enjoyable
cities in the United States. I think there is something there to intrigue
just about everyone. As a European, Jürgen was impressed by the European
feel and charm to the city's layout. If you are a history buff, sports fan,
music lover, have an appreciation of the arts, love good food, feel at peace
by the ocean, love architecture, the outdoors, learning, or just soaking up
atmosphere……… Boston has something for you to enjoy.
We stayed in a small hotel on the edge of the Back Bay, called
The Chandler Inn. The staff was great and they definitely had the best coffee
of anywhere we have stayed in the U.S. In addition to our room and free
coffee, we got a voucher for breakfast each morning at Billy's. The breakfast
was simple but good and it was a wonderful place to sit and observe what was
happening in the neighborhood, while we ate.
We walked the Freedom Trail and tried very hard to photograph
all of the historical sites but there are so many people, cars and larger
buildings blocking the scenes. While we were able to photograph these sites,
they aren't really up to the standard we try to maintain. For this I am sorry
because American History feels so alive there.
The photographs we are presenting for you don't even begin to
show all of Boston with its myriad of interesting places. Truly, everywhere
we turned there was something of interest to photograph. These are merely a
collection of some of the places and things we saw that we feel tell you a
little bit about Boston and its diversity. We hope this peaks your curiosity
and you will go to see it for yourself.
