MALLORCA
Gallery Thirteen
The easy thing to say is that Mallorca is both beautiful
and interesting. While this statement is true, it doesn't begin to tell
you the story of the island and there isn't room here to share all the
impressions we received from this island or how enchanted we were by it.
I can tell you we took over 700 photographs in 4 days, we were on the go
from early morning until into the evening every day and didn't see everything
we had hoped to see, and by the 3rd day we were trying to figure out how we
could buy a Finca and go back every time we needed a break from the world.
While this tells you how fascinating and beautiful we found Mallorca, it
still doesn't tell you about the island itself, or its history, or its
wonderful food, or the atmosphere we found so mesmerizing. Until a few
years ago, I had never heard of this island and before we actually went
there Jürgen had heard of it many times, thought of it as a German tourist
island, never wanted to go, and expected to be terribly disappointed. In
fact Mallorca is one of the Balearic Islands; it's a part of Spain and is
located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain. It has a
wonderfully rich history and has been home to countless famous people.
Hopefully through our photography you will see something of its beauty
and find a fascination all your own.
